Today, was it just another day for you?

75% of the world's population, roughly calculated, spends every day doing the same thing.  Beginning with rising late in the morning, finishing up the daily chores, rushing to their desired destinations, spending 8 to 9 hours in the same premises, doing the same thing as they might have done the previous day. I'm also one of them in the above mentioned set of people.

But I really wish to differ. Why should we live each day as 'just another day'. We're here to make a difference. And imagine how would it be if all of us tried different and new things everyday. There are so many talents in each one of us which are hidden, or have gone unrecognized, ignored, or probably lost in this messy world of ours where everyone is competing to be in the rat race, no matter if they're happy or not, contented or not, but everybody wants to be in that rat race. Come on people, you want to be in a race with rats...? Jokes apart, if given a serious look at whatever is happening in and around us, I can say we're setting a very bad example for the generations to come.

Lets take action before it's too late.

I found a really interesting piece of poem which encouraged me to come up with this post. I've pasted the verses below, indeed a beautiful one and thought provoking. I love the last verse the most, where the poet urges us to think whether we deserve to earn yet another tomorrow for whatever we've done today.

                                           AT THE DAY'S END
Ask yourself and introspect at the day's end
Is anybody happier because you passed his way?
The day is almost over and its toiling is through ;
Is there anyone to utter now a kindly word to you?

Does anyone remember that you spoke to him today?
Can you say tonight, in parting with the day that's slipping fast,
That you helped a single brother of the many that you passed?

Did you waste the day or lose it?
Was it well or sorely spent?
Is a single heart rejoicing over what you did or said?
Does the man whose hopes were fading,
Now with courage look ahead?
Did you leave a trail of kindness,
or a scar of discontent?

As you close your eyes in slumber,
Do you think God will say,
You have earned one more tomorrow
By the work you did today?

Let's make a difference, and try to leave the world a better place than we found it to be.

-Love,
Pree :)
