Bang!!! Thud!!!
And yes this is how the thought of me not having posted for so long hit my head. And I landed up here once again. The same old excuse for not getting enough time to manage between work and other things. I'm bugged up giving such excuses every time which are not really true. And honestly speaking, when I mention I'll be busy working, I'm lying because I really don't work that hard, nor do I spend hours together in coding or any programming stuff. I can tell you, I just spend 4 hours to the maximum, seriously working, all the other hours I'm waiting for the day to end. So, what can be a possible solution for this if at all it seems to be a problem?
First option, let me convince myself that it's not a problem at all and that's the ultimate solution. But then, complacency will hit me hard on my face someday, without me being prepared for it.
What can be the second best option then. Taking control of my life is the only other option left. I wish, I wish, somebody else would do that for me...... Its such a difficult thing to take control of one's life since, LIFE comes with so many packages embedded in itself which need to be controlled in turn to get hold of one's Life.
Ok so here it goes, I mean the elaborated second solution :)
1. Set your priorities right.
Right now, for me the most important priority is my job. Since, I spend nine precious hours of my time everyday in the office ( I'm scared to calculate how much it sums up to in a week,as it later fills me with a guilt for not giving justice to all those never returning hours...), don't you think those should be the most productive hours. Yes, indeed. But, where do I lack, why can't I give my 100% when I'm at work? And at the end of the day why do I feel guilty for not having used those hours wisely. I was the one who chose it for me and now why am I regretting my choice. So once your priorities are set right, these questions will find answers for themselves.
2. Keep away from Distractions.
By this, I simply mean when you've a very important thing at hand, your focus should be like a batsman in cricket whose only concentration is on the ball, else it so happens that you'll lose your wicket. Avoid distractions as much as possible. For example, if your phone rings and you see who's calling, you'll surely know whether the call will gobble up your time or if it's a really important call. Many a times, even after being aware that a phone call from a friend or anybody else will slowly rob our time, we give in to it because either we want to relax or we simply badly need an excuse to put on hold whatever task at hand. Next time, just curb that desire of picking that call which you can return later after your work and see how much time you save for yourself.
3. Start showing interest and get organized easily.
Interest is very important in everything we do, may it be a small task or a bigger one. Have you seen the tailor, how he does his job with utmost interest and involvement ( if he doesn't who's going to spare him for the spoilt dress. ;) ). Nothing comes without practice and at one go. It needs perseverance, focus and clarity. But for the task to really come out good, one has to be genuinely interested. If initially something doesn't interest you, don't take a step back, start creating interest and then you'll see how everything will fall in place.
4. The most important one.
Remember the above three points.. :)
So, I think now is the time to take charge and tread on a path to success.
I wish you all to be successful in your endeavors and I wish we all meet at a common juncture called "SUCCESS+HAPPINESS" .
PS: If you have any more views or tips for successful time management which can add up to the above list, you're welcome to leave your comments in the comment box. I would love to go through your comments which rather will serve as compliments to me. :)
-Love,
Pree
